
Martin Schulz
Martin Schulz is a Full Professor and Chair of Computer Architecture and Parallel Systems at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and a member of the Board of Directors at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre. Prior to this, he held positions at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and Cornell University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from TUM in 2001 and holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
His research interests include parallel and distributed architectures, performance analysis, memory optimization, programming models, tool support, energy-efficient and fault-tolerant computing, as well as quantum computing – with a particular focus on the integration of HPC and QC. He currently serves as Chair of the MPI Forum, the standardization body for the Message Passing Interface.
Martin Schulz has authored over 250 peer-reviewed publications and is a recipient of the IEEE/ACM Gordon Bell Award (2006) and an R&D 100 Award (2011). Furthermore, he has served in leading roles at numerous international conferences, including as Program Chair of ISC 2021, General Chair of EuroMPI 2021, and Program Co-Chair of SC25.
