Euro-Par 2025 PhD Symposium

The EuroPar Doctoral Symposium is a welcoming and supportive forum for PhD students to present their work, meet and interact with peers, and to receive constructive feedback about their work from experts in the EuroPar community.

The program will feature technical presentations by PhD students, and discussions in panel and open formats. Contributions accepted to the Doctoral Symposium will appear in the EuroPar companion proceedings.

Call for applications

We invite submissions from PhD students at any stage of their doctoral studies. Applicants must be officially enrolled in a PhD Program at the time of submission, and each submission MUST be backed by an endorsement from the official PhD adviser(s). Required submission files are as follows:

1. Proposed Paper (in Springer LNCS format; no longer than 6 pages including references; Overleaf template), including:

  • Title of work, authors, and affiliation. Necessary condition: the first author, corresponding author and the person presenting (if the proposal is accepted) is a PhD student.

  • Abstract of the work.

  • Description of work being/planned to be done, including the problem being addressed, the research methodology, and preliminary results (if any).

2. Adviser Statement of Support (no longer than 1 page), including:

  • Name of advisor(s)/supervisor(s).

  • Declaration that the applicant is their PhD student.

  • Stage of PhD (date started and expected date of completion).

  • Confirmation of support for applicant’s participation.

Submission guidelines

The submission consists of:

  • Proposal: A manuscript (see item 1 of the call).
  • Adviser letter: A statement of support from the applicant's adviser(s) (see item 2 of the call).

review of applications

The symposium committee members will review the submitted applications based on originality, technical strength, quality of presentation, and relevance to the conference. Submitted documents that do not meet the above requirements might be rejected without a review. All submitted proposals will be checked for originality by Springer iThenticate (proposals which show an insufficient originality might be rejected without a review).

We are pleased to offer a limited number of student scholarships covering registration fees for Euro-Par 2025. To be eligible, applicants must be PhD students in Informatics or Computing Science at the time of the event. In addition, a strong letter of recommendation from your advisor is essential. Awards will be based primarily on the strength of this letter.

Successful applicants may be asked to support the organization of Euro-Par 2025 by assisting with certain tasks during the event.
