Dr. Daniel Cordeiro is an Associate Professor at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities at the University of São Paulo. He received his PhD in Mathematics and Informatics from the Université de Grenoble, France, and his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo. His main research interests include High Performance Computing and Scheduling Theory (and its applications to multi-objective optimization problems, approximation algorithms, algorithmic game theory, etc.). His current research projects are related to Sustainable Computing; in particular, he investigates how to apply High Performance Computing to reduce the environmental impact of running distributed applications and reduce carbon emissions in Smart Cities.
