Arrival & Public Transport
An efficient transport network is available to you in the city area of Dresden. Numerous streetcars, buses, Elbe ferries and two mountain railroad lines operate in the Saxon state capital. Dresden is also well connected to the surrounding area.
Flight
Dresden Airport is located approximately 9 kilometers north of the city center. It can be reached directly by S-Bahn and bus; by car via the A4, A13 and A17 highways and the B97 federal highway. It will in general take half an hour from Dresden Airport to Dresden city.
Train
Dresden is a hub in the long-distance rail network of Deutsche Bahn AG. There are connections to many major German cities several times a day, usually every 2 hours. The ICE, EC and IC trains stop at both Dresden Central Station and Dresden-Neustadt station.
Car
Dresden is connected to the national main road network via 3 highways: The A4 leads to Dresden from the west and from the east, the A13 from the north and the A17 connects the Saxon state capital with Prague.
